Welcome back to the Side Scheme, and thank you for joining us today! I’m Tommy of Titan and we were lucky enough to have FFG share a card from the upcoming Ant-man hero pack with us, and it is our pleasure to now share that with all of you. Without further delay, let’s take a look.
Ok, so we have more cheap events to go with Leadership and more Avengers support. Leadership is an extremely powerful aspect and maybe one of the tightest decks to fit cards into so let’s see where this card could fit.
To me this card is a one that is really put into a deck to add consistency. That said, it definitely has some competition for its slots in Leadership. Cards like Make the Call or even Rapid Response could both be cards competing for the same slots as Call for Aid. The thing that Call for Aid can do that those others can’t do, is help you find that one essential ally that you need for a combo. Maybe your entire deck is built around a single powerful ally such as Goliath. If that’s the case, this is the card for you.
I am very excited to see what kind of combos this card is going to help players enable moving forward but it is important to note that it comes at a price. There is certainly a possibility that you could discard any number of useful cards on your way to an Avengers ally, and that ally might not even be the one you need. It’s also going to accelerate the rate at which you get additional encounter cards for cycling your deck. All of these factors are definitely going to need to be weighed before playing this card.
