What’s up Champions?! BananaCrapshoot here for another High Fives article, but instead of focusing on an aspect we are gonna look at u favorite 5 allies in the game right now.
Starting off is the amazing Black Cat, one look art this card and you can see why Spider-Man has had romantic ties with Black Cat in the comics. 0 consequential damage. This card stays on board the whole game, and yea 1 dmg isn’t a lot but when she never leaves play. It piles up fast. She’s the best Inspired target I think, making her 2 dmg for 0 drawback per turn is insane. Love this card. Way to go Pete.
Another hero love interest is Agent 13. This card is a Scheme machine. She already thwarts for 2 but removed 2 from a Scheme when she enters play. She is one of the reasons Cap is in a tier of his own right now. He can handle any situation in the game. Agent 13 just adds to that, dealing with 8 threat for her 3 health. Great card.
Wait a minute, is this High Fives:Allies or High Fives: Love Interests? Lady Sif is my first or second favorite Ally in the game right now, right there with Black Cat. She costs 4 but her ability to reset the God of Hammers himself is huge, especially when he’s swinging for 4 just with his identity. And she has great flexibility with 2 THW and. 2 ATK. 4 is a little steep but she’s way too cheap at 3 so her cost is fair.
First one not in a hero’s set of 15 is Valkyrie. She is an amazing ally. She 3 cost for 3 health and 2 ATK are right in line with what you would expect and her response for 2 or 3 dmg to a minion just makes her so efficient cost/damage wise. She’s just a great beat stick.
This last spot was hard to fill. Nick Fury and Vision both were considered. I ended up settling on Maria Hill for a few reasons. One is that she’s cheap only costing 2. She has 2 thwart so she’s great and handling the scheme while you swing away on that poor hydra soldier. The biggest reason is the card draw, allowing everyone to draw a card is so huge. Given that cards in hand are resources, card draw is king in this game. Allowing you more options and flexibility to make even better, bigger plays. She’s a great enabler and that’s why I had to give her some recognition.
Overall this is my favorite allies at the moment. No dudes on here. That’s alright though, all of these ladies pack a punch all their own and I’m always thrilled to have one in hand to throw down on my oversized mousepad.
