BananaBuilds: The Cheese Factory

What’s up Champions?! BananaCrapshoot here for another deck build article. Today I wanted to bring my most recent deck published on marvelcdb.com , the cheese factory! This is a Captain America protection deck. The Basic concepts are not new but I feel this is a really great solo or multiplayer deck so I wanted to spend a few minutes talking about it with all of you.

The Rundown:

The basic rundown is this is a Stun-Lock deck with a healing/damage prevention shell around it. General idea is to stun the villain as much as possible while healing up teammates or allies while also being able to ready and attack twice each round. While also using mockingbird/Nick Fury/ and Clea to chump block. Clea is the best chump blocker since she goes right back into your deck.

Allies:

Iron Fist and Mockingbird are here to enable the stun locks and do whatever dmg/thwart you need. Nick Fury is still a great ally allowing you to draw 3 then atk/THW for 2 then being a great chump blocker. If you wanted to add another ally here I’d recommend Lockjaw, he’s a great ally and since he can be played from the discard using Cap’s alter ego ability you can play a 4 cost ally for the effective cost of a 2 cost ally!

Upgrades:

Cap starts with 3 Def with the shield so we have an Armored Vest to get that to 4. Then combined with Energy Barriers you should be able to Defend for a teammate and trigger unflappable regularly. Target acquired is a nice way to thin the deck and help stave off some bad boost abilities. Electro static armor fits well with cap and effectively makes him have retaliate 2 in conjunction with the shield! These 2 with energy barrier allow for decent damage to go back at the villain in the villain phase. I wait and use endurance as a heal, either for a teammate or myself.

Supports:

Helicarrier and Quincarrier are great 3 cost ramp cards and they go in all of my decks at this point. I rarely run avengers mansion anymore because it’s too slow to pay itself back and at 4 cost I’d rather run nick fury. Med Team is self explanatory, heal your teammates, allies, or if needed yourself, but cap has so much defensive stuff going on he should rarely need it. Night Nurse is here to ensure Cap can ready by taking away stun or confuse status tokens he could get on him. And it’s another small self heal, but she’s mainly here for the status card removal.

Events:

The only non hero event in here is Tackle, it deals damage and enables the stun lock. I also thought about momentum shift but like I said before there’s enough defensive stuff here that the amount of times you’d get the 2 damage off is minimal since you have to heal 2 damage with it to get the 2 damage.

How it plays:

Ideally round 1 targets are a super soldier serum, a stun lock card and a defensive card line energy barrier, electro static armor or armored vest. Then stun the villain as often as you can while using the med teams and chump blocks to heal your teammates and allies. Theres lots of upgrades and supports in here so you should be able to thin the deck enough to really cycle clea, hero events, med team, and energy barrier enough that you are always able to play one of the good heal/damage prevention cards. Don’t be afraid to block with cap either, dealing 2 back and drawing a card is with the exhaust. Then you can always ready and attack/thwart in the hero phase!

That’s it for this deck build overview. Let me know what you think and how it plays for you. I have it published on the dB but didn’t do much of a write up because I was planning on doing it here. That deck can be found here: https://marvelcdb.com/decklist/view/3060/the-cheese-factory-1.0

Like I said it’s really good solo and multiplayer. Thanks for stopping by. Hope this helps somebody out. Please check out the rest of our articles as well as our podcast. More YouTube content will be coming soon! Stay scheming champions!
